A wonderful partnership was established with ICADE Corporation, just after the summer holidays. « Innovation, mobilization towards sustainable development, community involvement and a desire for human challenge with the objective of pushing one’s limits», were the words of the director-general of the corporation, Olivier Wigniolle, highlighted to explain the cooperation with the Solar Arctic expedition project. As for me, meeting the ICADE Corporation team, revealed enthusiastic staff, convinced that I had been right all along. Everything comes to him who knows to wait, or should I say «who can move heaven and earth to attain one’s dreams».
The Northwest crossing project aboard my small solar prototype boat has accomplished a great step forward. From then on, accompanied by the various Corporations and businesses, the pressure over the next nine months will be considerably reduced.
Preparations in Neuchâtel are moving along fine while the CSEM engineers are ready for few tests to establish the engine’s electrical consumption at various speeds. This will determine the capacity of every battery. A rather awkward explanation for some, but essential to us, as the SolarBoat will be propelled only by solar energy. Therefore I must charge the batteries to their maximum before consuming as little as possible. Every detail is crucial and nothing can be left to chance. So, at this time everyone is concentrating on his specialty.
In spite of the preparations, which are moving along quite well, I’ll be taking a few days of rest at Dijon for the «Festival des Ecrans de l’Aventure» (Festival of Adventure Screens). Having the pleasure andthe great honour of presiding the event, I’ll totally enjoy films that deal with dreams and passions and meeting those who on land, on sea or in the air know when to step aside for a short period. Wonderful days ahead!
See you in the next chapter…
